the Guidelines

The Guidelines for Setting and Managing Speed Limits in Ireland were developed as a result of an Action in the Speed Limit Review of 2012 (report issued in 2013). The Guidelines were published and launched in Marc 2015. Since then, all Local Authorities have been required to use and adhere to these Guidelines when setting Speed Limits in their Administrative areas. They are structured as follows;
